INside niaid article

One of my first tasks as a Fellow was to draft an article for Inside NIAID, an internal informational resource for NIAID employees. This involved writing about the new safety training requirement, (Massive hemorrhage, Airway control, Respiratory support, Circulation, and Hypothermia (MARCH)), that the U.S. Embassy in Bamako, Mali, established for all federal employees traveling outside of the Bamako Capital District. The article addressed the nature of the training, its necessity, relevant exceptions, and information around how to obtain the training.
Training comparison

I was tasked with creating a comparison chart for the various trainings that federal employees can take prior to international travel. This is a resource that those in the Office of Global Research (OGR) can refer to when coordinating international travel for NIAID employees. The chart includes three trainings that federal employees can partake in, which include High Threat Security Overseas Seminar (HTSOS), Foreign Affairs Counter Threat (FACT), and Massive hemorrhage, Airway control, Respiratory support, Circulation, and Hypothermia (MARCH). The chart includes information around teaching style and length of training, validity period, exemption requirements, and training content.
COVID-19 INitiatives

I was tasked with creating another resource for OGR, which pertained global initiatives of interest to NIAID around COVID-19. This is living document that can be added to as time progresses, but as for now it includes eight initiatives, including Access to COVID-19 Tools Accelerator (ACT Accelerator), COVID-19 Therapeutics Accelerator, and C3.ai COVID-19 Data Lake, among others. For each initiative, I have information on the organization it was established by, the aims, funding partners, organizations involved, as well as the announcement date.
