COVID-19 Work

Since October 2020, I have been a Case Investigator for the City and County of Denver’s COVID-19 response. My primary role is to help businesses impacted by COVID-19 navigate CDC and State-level safety protocols. This involves issuing Public Health Orders, conducting phone interviews with business owners, HR, and others in positions of authority, providing verbal guidance on workplace safety and all things COVID-related. Additionally, I assist the COVID-19 testing at the Denver International Airport (DIA). Similarly to case investigation, I follow-up with those who have tested positive at DIA and help them navigate alternate travel plans and/or isolation plans as well as gather travel-related information to report to the CDC.

Since February 2021, I have been a Communicable Disease Analyst for the Oregon Health Authority. In this role I assist with case investigation and follow-up with individuals who have tested positive. This involves contacting positive cases via phone and gathering information around demographics, their diagnosis, including test date, symptom onset date, and symptoms, isolation plans, close contacts, as well as provide county-level resources for those who need assistance of any kind during their isolation. Additionally, I dedicate two days of every month to volunteering at local community-based COVID testing and vaccine distribution sites.
